Unaccompanied Migrant Children’s Rights: A Prerequisite for the 2030 Agenda’s Sustainable Development Goals in Spain and Sweden

Starting from a child rights-based approach to sustainable development, this contribution underlines and compares the discourses in selected Spanish Swedish migration education policies on rights of unaccompanied minors discusses their impact enactment 2030 Agenda’s Sustainable Development Goals both countries. Based critical discourse analysis, research shows co-existence two different discourses: one as global holders other foreign citizens. By describing migrant citizens rather than children, international agreements make it possible for governments deprioritize refugees’ rights, such Convention Rights Child Agenda. Furthermore, development are mutually reinforcing, negotiation that there obstacles accomplishing Goal 4
